  1. J.L. Populist, Aug 17, 2010 - Basic Contract Law for Paralegals, 5th Edition

A quote from the author sums up why contract law is an important subject for paralegals and citizens in general-

“Every aspect of normal life is dominated by contractual principles, but few people realize the extent to which they are, in fact, contracting parties.”

The two features of this book that I appreciated the most are the “Cases for Analysis” at the end of each chapter. The author provides two cases that are related to the subject of that chapter.

The second feature is the helpful advice for the paralegal in drafting contracts. He details the types of clauses and points to resources for contract forms in addition to showing what they look like.

BASIC CONTRACT LAW FOR PARALEGALS is more than a basic look at contract law. It goes more in-depth than what I expected. It’s organized very well and has clear explanations of terms.

This is an excellent textbook and I highly recommend it.
